From the Indies to the Grandest Stage of Them All

Many pro wrestlers aspire to this path, and The Wrestling Matt will do the same WOOOO. No other industry is as captivating as professional wrestling, from the incredible athleticism to the larger-than-life characters. An industry where dead men walk around and laying the smack down on your boss with a steel chair is a typical day at the office. It’s a break from reality.

Now is a better time than ever to get into wrestling. It is also such a tricky world to navigate. Between AEW and WWE alone, we get six episodes a week. You will always have a supply of content to watch or engage with the fanbase.

Perhaps the best way to get into it is to see my journey with pro wrestling HERE. This blog post talks about my journey with pro wrestling and how it has influenced my life, including wrestlers who impacted me and how they motivated me to overcome challenges in my childhood.

If you are already a veteran wrestling fan, you are likely aware of the very real drama between companies and internally.

So, what do you want to talk about? There is so much to cover. We can talk about anything from the Macho Man Randy Savage vs. Ricky The Dragon Steamboat at WrestleMania to what will be on next week’s Raw. There are just so many different matches to talk about. A hot debate fans constantly have is which match is the greatest of all time, and you can hear all about my thoughts on that here.

A lot of work and care have been put into these posts, and this is just the start! The Wrestling Matt is just getting started, and I have so much content planned I cannot wait to share with you all!

    Time to Play the Game

Would you believe it if I told you I love playing wrestling games? As discussed in my first blog post, I was initially introduced to pro wrestling from SmackDown vs. Raw 2010. The menu song, “You’re Going Down” by Sick  Puppies, lives in my head rent-free to this day. I originally got to play at…

    A Broken Champion

When Roman Reigns unified the WWE Championship and Universal Championship at WrestleMania 38, Raw had no champion. It was clear WWE had no intentions of ending Roman’s legendary run anytime soon. For me, it made Raw a skippable show. Thankfully, WWE realized this and decided to bring back the Heavyweight Championship. Let’s quickly talk about…

  • Streak Vs Career: The Greatest Match in History?

A highly debated topic among pro-wrestling fans is the greatest match of all time and what that means. Some consider the story being told, while others see it as purely the in-ring work. The honest answer to this question is that it is subjective, but that’s nowhere near as fun of an answer. In this…

  • Play My Music

    Play My Music

This one is going to be fun. In some cases, an entrance theme can make or break a wrestler. Imagine If Undertaker never got his mysterious theme, “Rest in Peace,” which potentially could have changed his whole career. This will be me going through some of my favorite theme songs and why they are in…

  • Why Wrestling is a Love Story

Yeah, it’s a fantastic title for a blog post. Unfortunately, I can’t take the credit. Cody Rhodes tweeted it after returning to WWE after six long years at WrestleMania 38. It’s been stuck in my head since then because it couldn’t be more accurate. Bad wrestling can be hard to watch, but great wrestling has…
